Zen Coaching
A conversation for coming back into contact with yourself.
Zen Coaching starts from a quiet trust: what matters most is not something I place inside you. It is already there, even if it is buried, quiet, conflicted, or hard to hear right now.
My work is to meet you with enough presence, patience, and honest reflection that your own seeing has more room to become clear.
What Zen Coaching is
Zen points toward awareness, presence, openness, non-judgement, and a more relaxed way of being with what is real. Coaching, in this tradition, is a conversation where we assume that the client already carries resources, wisdom, experience, values, and inner direction.
So the session is not built around advice, analysis, or me trying to fix you. It is built around contact: slowing down enough to notice what is alive in you, what wants attention, and what becomes possible when you can meet yourself more honestly.
I do not assume I know what you need. I trust that something in you already knows the direction, even if it is quiet right now.
The purpose
The purpose is awareness, inner contact, and choice. Sometimes we discover a practical next step. Sometimes the important thing is that a feeling, need, grief, conflict, or longing finally gets to be met without being pushed away or turned into a project.
This may be useful when you are in change, creative uncertainty, relationship tension, grief, exhaustion, or a quieter moment where something in your life is asking for a more truthful conversation.
The method
Zen Coaching focuses on the inner experience first. Not because outer problems are unimportant, but because our relationship to them often changes when we can see more clearly what is happening inside.
We use simple means: silence, open questions, reflection, body awareness, and sometimes a grounding exercise or creative inquiry. The pace is unforced. We follow what is present rather than forcing the conversation toward a result.
Five principles I work from
1. Support for inner contact
A lot of suffering becomes harder when we lose contact with ourselves. The session supports you in coming closer to your own body, feelings, needs, values, and truth.
2. Help through non-helping
I am not there to take over, rescue, solve, or guide you toward my answer. I offer a welcoming space where you can see and accept more of yourself as you are right now.
3. Listening from acceptance
The main tools are presence, silence, open questions, and verbal reflection. I listen without trying to make you different before you have had a chance to meet what is already here.
4. Empathic contact
I stay in human contact with what is alive in you, and with what I notice in myself while listening. The important question is often very simple: what is happening now?
5. Flexibility and creative methods
Sometimes the session is mostly conversation. Sometimes it may include body awareness, imagery, parts work, movement, or a simple experiment. The method serves your process, not the other way around.
How a session works
We usually begin with a short grounding meditation. Then you bring what feels present: a question, a situation, a pattern, a feeling, or just a sense that something needs attention.
From there we follow the conversation slowly. I listen for what is said, what is felt, and what may be asking for more space. There is no need to perform clarity, be spiritual, have the right words, or arrive with a neat topic. We let the session move at a human pace.
Training and approach
I've completed the full year-long Zen Coaching training — all five modules — and am now working toward full certification. My practice roots run through Vipassana meditation, yoga, contemplative traditions, men's circles, movement work, and retreat facilitation.
My approach is warm, direct, and simple. I care about helping you come closer to your own seeing, not making you dependent on mine.
What this is not
This is not therapy, diagnosis, crisis support, spiritual authority, or a productivity system. It is also not a place where I promise transformation in one session.
It is a respectful coaching conversation where we make room for awareness, choice, and honest contact with what is real now.

Yes. Online is the default. In person is also possible at my place, or at a meeting place of your choice (limited availability).
How long is a session?
60 minutes. A free 20-minute intro call is available for first-time clients to find your fit.
